Smartphone addiction has become the latest bane of the 21st century, and millions of people around the world are affected by it. They are always glued to the screen of their smartphones, and sometimes staying without it makes them restless and irritable. Online gaming, social media, internet browsing, and shopping has become hysteria among the people. Monitor your usage
According to research, an average teenager spends around 8-10 hours using the phone in a day, which is surely unhealthy. Therefore, tracking your usage on how many hours you have spent using the phone might help in increasing awareness about the problem.
There are some apps that can warn you about your excess usage. You can set time limitation on usage on the phone or use it only if it is necessary.
Turn off notifications
The biggest distracters and bait for using the smartphone is the constant notifications that keep coming in. Turn off all notifications from your messages, emails, and social media pop-ups. Do this especially when you are at work and at night when you sleep. The ideal thing will be switching off the phone completely at such time.
Keep the device away from bed
Sleep is greatly disturbed by smartphones and hence keep it away from yourself during bedtime. Also, do not view the screen of the phone for long before sleeping, or else it will disturb your sleep as well.
