Defining Anxiety

Anxiety is one the many emotions experienced by humanity. While Anxiety is not considered the most primary emotion but it is a common experience that everyone undergo  pretty occasionally in their day to day  life, for example when submission of an incomplete project deadline is nearing or when facing any form of examination etc.

Anxiety is an emotion that bear resemblance to a combination of constantly being on edge, under tension and feeling restless. When such a common emotion reaches a stage where it goes out of rational control so much so that it disables one to perform any kind of everyday task, it's considered to be a form of illness condition called anxiety disorder.


Anxiety disorder is condition that is considered a general form of illness.In Australia itself Anxiety condition is believed to have affected 45 per cent of the the population, to be exact a staggering number of 2 million adults per year.

An illness so general has various methods of coping and control management which whenever undertaken in a structural composition may be effective in even recovery.

These methods include-

Self help, a temporary measure used as a medium of relaxation, it may vary from people to people, some may like to meditate, some do exercise or any other mode of achieving calm.
Medication is a measure used alongside therapy and counseling. Medication can be only an aid but not a sole measure responsible to help with coping the condition, such Medication include the likes of anti depressants like Etizolam anti depressant, that calms muscles,aid in providing sleep and all in all relax the body, other medications can include benzodiazepines, tricyclics etc.
A healthy and regular sleep pattern and good diet may help in effective recovery as well.

Anxiety is oftentimes confused with fear though overlapping, both the emotions are different. The only similarity between the two is that they both have similar symptoms like producing  stress, increasing heart palpitations, increasing attentive ability and heightened intuitions.
In a situation when one is afraid of heights, if  under such circumstances they feel anxious with the idea that they might fall, but fear is an emotion experienced when they actually fall off height. Hence, anxiety is an emotion feeling on what might while fear is an experience of  evident circumstance.
Both of these emotions are a present from the time of our predecessors where the symptoms prepared the human body both physically and mentally to react in peril at best of its ability in the game of survival.

Similarly in the present this same ideology can be hypothetically used and can mean that anxiousness and it's symptoms can result the body to react and work to the best of its capabilities on performance, now it Amy vary from people to people in how this energy can be channelled into productivity that achieve success instead just being an excuse to demotivate and failure.
Therefore, it  is only a belief that any or every form of anxiety is only detrimental!
