Traumatic events that occur that happens in anyone’s life can
have a very debilitating effect. The horrifying memories of that event can
haunt the person, again and again, throwing away normalcy from their lives.
Trauma can be both physical and mental, but in the end, it
has more of a psychological effect on the person, be it in any form.
Traumatic events can happen right from accident, physical and
mental abuse, rape, sexual assault, bullying, death of a person, and witnessing
a riot or war and other things like that.
The memories of traumatic events cannot be erased from the
mind, but they can be suppressed to a certain extent so that they cannot
interfere in your everyday life.
Trauma can cause numerous issues in the life of the person
and does not allow him or her to lead it peacefully. It generally causes
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which can show some nasty symptoms like:
·
Increased heart rate
·
Raised blood pressure
·
Increased sweating
·
Loss of appetite
In people who suffer from the issue of PTSD, they usually
experience problems like nightmares, scary flashbacks, avoiding things or
places that can remind them of the past event and even panic attacks.
People with this issue also have sleep disturbances, poor
concentration, depression, and emotional numbing. At times to counter their
horrifying memories, they resort to drug and alcohol abuse.
Severe PTSD issues need psychological counselings and therapy
for the treatment of this problem. The anti-depressant like Etilaam and Etizolam might be helpful in addressing the depression caused by the issue of
PTSD.
Support of family and
friends also play a crucial role in managing the problem. As mentioned earlier,
the memories of the traumatic event might never go away completely, but by
opting for these methods can prevent the overwhelming effect of the problem.
